The year 9 group has started attending the Diamonds Study Centre on Monday evenings. Most of the group are familiar with the programme although we do have three new students.
In the first two weeks the students got to know their way around the Centre, made name badges using Publisher, learned how to make origami shirts, designed a sports stadium using a template which they manipulated and added to, and began working on their dream teams. They carried out internet searches for this task and imported pictures and text to their work.

Unfortunately week three was cancelled due to the poor weather, but we’re hoping to see everyone again soon.
The year 8 group at the Cobblers Study Centre on Wednesday evenings have enjoyed a stadium tour and a stadium orienteering activity. They’ve played team games and word games and begun the Cobblers Study Centre Challenge which also involves designing sports shirts and creating a dream team. Fortunately the weather hasn’t stopped them and they’re doing great things – including learning how to do speed stacking.
