Eighteen young people who had attended kic.in2.study over the last year were among those receiving awards at the Shooting Stars Award Ceremony organised by the Children’s Rights Service.

The sparkling event was held at the Park Inn and was intended to celebrate the personal achievements of young people in the care of the Local Authority.  Paul Burnett, director of CYPS hosted the evening and David Akinsanya, broadcaster and film maker, gave the keynote speech and handed out certificates.  Local sports celebrities Hollie Avil, Mark Hopley, James Cannon and Shaun Parrish were also present to congratulate the young people on their achievements.

Congratulations to Amber, Angela, Bekkie, Brandon, Caitlan, Clarissa, Clifford, Daniel, Donna, Jacques, Jake, James, Jordan, Kiefer, Levi, Malachai, Sarah and Tom.
