Cafcass consultation
Cafcass Health and Wellbeing Consultation Day
Children’s Rights and Kic.in2.study accompanied ten young people to the National Space Centre in Leicester on 20th February to attend a national youth consultation about Health and Wellbeing for young people in public care.
The young people completed questionnaires and took part in focus groups which addressed topics such as smoking, alcohol, drugs, relationships and sexual health, healthy eating, emotional and mental wellbeing and general health. The older young people participated in video interviews to share their views.
As well as contributing to this important consultation there were opportunities to attend a space show and look around the Space Centre. Northamptonshire’s young people conducted themselves with maturity and were a credit to all involved with them. We look forward to reading the final report from Cafcass and are proud to have contributed to it.
At the end of the day the young people were asked to give their comments on the day and to score the event for its education and interest value.
5= Excellent
0= Very poor.
