Longtown visit July 2008

Twelve young people spent four challenging but enjoyable days at Longtown Outdoor Education Centre with Kic.in2.study at the end of July.

Centre based activities included team games, a low ropes confidence course, , orienteering, rounders, climbing and abseiling, high ropes, the leap of faith and Jacob’s ladder. Off site we did gorge walking which included crossing a waterfall, walking behind a waterfall and jumping into white water. The mountain adventure day saw us walking a long way up (and down) a mountain, abseiling down the side of a waterfall, building shelters and relaxing in the quieter stretches of the river.

By the end of the visit new friendships had been made and new skills discovered. Everyone had tried something they’d never done before, everyone had done something they were very proud of, and the staff were exhausted!
